Increased sales of painkilling OTC medicines in 1996-2010 due to a rise in prescribed painkillers
The sale of pain-relieving medicines approved for sale over the counter in Denmark has risen by 17 per cent in 15 years. The increase is not, however, due to an increase in the actual sale of these medicines over the counter, which only increased by one per cent in this period. On the contrary, the increase is due to increased sales of these medicines on prescription, as is shown by a new report.
