Proprietary pharmacists’ and doctors’ relationships with companies comprised by the medicinal cannabis pilot programme
Proprietary pharmacists and doctors who want to establish a relationship with a company comprised by the pilot programme must notify their relationships to the Danish Medicines Agency or be granted permission by the Danish Medicines Agency to be connected with the companies.
Companies comprised by the medicinal cannabis pilot programme are required to give certain information to the proprietary pharmacists and doctors with which they establish a relationship. The companies also have a duty to inform the Danish Medicines Agency of which proprietary pharmacists and doctors they have established relationships with.
These rules are intended to promote unbiased prescribing, use and dispensing of cannabis products. The rules have moreover been designed with the aim of ensuring the availability of cannabis products.
The Danish Medicines Agency publishes a list of proprietary pharmacists and doctors having notified a relationship or received permission to be connected with a company comprised by the pilot programme.
The Danish Medicines Agency also publishes a list of companies comprised by the pilot programme and thus the rules on relationships.
