Write your PhD or master’s thesis at the Danish Medicines Agency
We gladly welcome PhD and master’s students who wish to write their thesis at the Danish Medicines Agency and base their project in a highly professional environment of relevance to society.
At the Danish Medicines Agency, we work for the health and well-being of the Danish public. We cover a range of tasks – from authorisation and monitoring of medicines and medical devices to advisory services and regulation – and our organisation features highly specialised professional environments where learning, collaboration and professional immersion go hand in hand.
By opening our doors to students, we are investing in tomorrow’s skills, giving them a chance to get close to regulatory tasks of great public importance.
The process step by step
1. Initial inquiry
If you would like to write your PhD or master’s thesis at the Danish Medicines Agency, please send an email to HR & Communications and briefly describe your project and motivation for writing the thesis here.
2. Submission of documents
Please attach the following documents so we may explore the options:
- Proof that you are actively enrolled in studies
- A copy of your PhD or master’s thesis contract
3. Assessment of research field and match
HR and the relevant departments will jointly discuss where – and if – your research project can be based in our organisation. The following is included in the assessment:
- The relevance of the project’s research field and alignment with our tasks
- Conflicting interests, if any, in relation to our regulatory role
- The possibility of assigning an expert as a mentor or contact person
- Practical opportunities for on-site placement at the agency.
We aim to create a meaningful and professionally sound placement, both for you and for the organisation.
4. Conclusion of agreement if any
If the assessment is favourable, and it is possible to accept your request, we will enter into an agreement for you to write your PhD or master’s thesis with us.
Confidentiality and responsibility
As a regulatory authority, we often process confidential and sensitive data. If we enter into an agreement for you to write your thesis with us, you will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Before any writing begins, we will find out together if your project will include information that neither may nor should be published. If so, a specific agreement will be drawn up to ensure this information is protected and to provide a clear framework for your work.
A meaningful expert community
With us, you will have the opportunity to work in a professional environment with dedicated colleagues and a high level of expertise. We believe that strong collaborative ties will create value for each student and society as a whole.
