Value-creating knowledges and deliverables
strategic benchmarkFocus area 1
We are the primary source of knowledge on medicinal products and medical devices through dialogue with the world around us.
Focus area 2
We deliver professional quality in a timely manner.
Significant demands are placed on the quality of our work, which is characterised by increasing complexity. In a number of areas, we must therefore develop new procedures and deliverables, and that requires us to run an efficient, quality-controlled organisation. To ensure this, we will continue to guide our work by quality management and lean principles and safe processes. At the same time, we continuously focus on testing and using new technologies, such as robots and AI, in relation to our core deliverables within our regulatory tasks.
Our knowledge and professionalism are in demand with higher needs for increasingly recipient-oriented, timely and transparent communication. We must accommodate this demand and continue making the Danish Medicines Agency the primary source of knowledge of medicines and medical devices.
We must continuously improve the way we work with our stakeholders, whether they are businesses or people in general, by systematically leading the way to create dialogue and professional debates. It is paramount that we stay curious about what our surroundings want.
The geopolitical security situation has heightened awareness and increased expectations that public authorities maintain effective preparedness measures and demonstrate resilience. The Danish Medicines Agency has to navigate a complex preparedness context, consisting of EU requirements for cybersecurity and resilience, the newly established Danish Ministry of Resilience and Preparedness and the development of future health preparedness, both nationally and internationally. We therefore increasingly experience that our surroundings have expectations of us and assign us a growing number of diverse preparedness tasks that we must be able to handle.
We will let this benchmark guide us towards fulfilling the following two focus areas in 2026:
- We are the primary source of knowledge on medicinal products and medical devices through dialogue with the world around us
- We deliver professional quality in a timely manner.
Strategic agency objective in 2025
Agency objective 1:
A strong preparedness across the Danish Medicines Agency
We will be increasingly transparent and keenly aware of the needs of our surroundings
