In cases of particular urgency, doctors, companies or other authorities can contact the Danish Medicines Agency outside normal opening hours on our hotline: +45 7611 7262
The hotline receives calls concerning:
- Inquiries from doctors regarding compassionate use permits for unlicensed medicines for emergency medical treatment of a patient
- Reports about side effects (ADR reports)
- Recall of medicines
Urgent matters during opening hours: +45 4488 9595
The Danish Medicines Agency’s Information Centre (+45 4488 9595) answers emergency calls during normal opening hours Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 15:00.
Product defects and recall of medicines (Rapid Alert)
The Danish Medicines Agency must be informed if a company considers a product defect may lead to the recall of a medicine from the market.

Reimbursement
If you need to inquire about an application for reimbursement, please call the division on +45 4488 9696 (9:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday).
You can also write to us via this encrypted form (in Danish only). You will need your NemID to use the form. We will send a letter to the e-Boks of the person the question concerns.
If you are making an inquiry about reimbursement on behalf of someone else, we need the consent or authorisation from that person, but not if you are inquiring about your child which you have custody of.

Closed Friday after the Ascension Day and between Christmas and New year
The Danish Medicines Agency is closed on workdays between Christmas and New Year as well as on the Friday after the Ascension Day. We will nonetheless be handling urgent applications for compassionate use permits on these days. Information about who to contact regarding compassionate use permits on these days and information about deadlines and review during the Christmas holidays will be placed on the homepage of our website: dkma.dk.
